Adib Habayeb is the Managing Partner of the firm. He is a trial lawyer, with over 48 years of experience in litigation and arbitration, particularly in the fields of Civil Law and Commercial Law.
Adib’s experience includes:
- Ad-hoc and international arbitrations.
- Engineering/construction disputes.
- Maritime issues.
- Commercial/corporate matters (including the establishment of foreign and Jordanian companies) mergers, acquisitions, and privatisation.
- Agency agreement disputes.
- Intellectual property.
- Investments (legal aspects, legal drafting, and due diligence) and syndicated loan agreements.
- Banking and insurance.
- Enforcement of foreign judgements and awards.
Adib also advises a variety of domestic and international based clients, including auditors, banks, contractors, investors, airlines, protection and indemnity clubs (P&I Clubs), and represents many diplomatic missions and non-governmental organisations in Jordan.
Adib acted on behalf of an international client as the lead lawyer for one of the largest acquisitions of a local telecommunications company, in Jordan in addition to acting for other mergers and acquisitions.
He also acts /acted as arbitrator in ad-hoc and institutional arbitrations governed by, inter alia, the Jordanian Law of Arbitration, ICC, IICRA and DIAC.
Adib has extensive experience in intellectual property litigation, primarily with respect to counterfeit and illicit trade. He also acts/acted as legal advisor to commercial companies in tax litigations and in negotiations with the relevant tax authorities.
Adib served as a member of the ICC Court of International Arbitration in Paris from 2009 until June 2018.
Adib was part of the legislative committees for drafting the Companies’ Law, the Maritime law and the Arbitration Law
